"Leadership is influence- the mark we leave on other people and the mark we leave on the organizations we involve ourselves with" -The Servant

What is My Professional Development Plan?

Your professional development plan contains what your short term and future goals will be as a future leader and professional, as well as any other artifacts that add value to your professional development. Below you will find examples on the types of information to include in your Professional Development page.

Goals

Goals should be short term and long term oriented. Tell your reader exactly what your hopes and dreams are in your professional and personal career. Do you aspire to be on the board of a non-profit? Are you planning on reading one book a month? How many countries do you want to travel to?

But more importantly, tell us how you're going to get there!

Reading Pages

A page that illustrates a library of the books that have impacted the way you live your life is an incredible way to add personality to your portfolio. Tell your reader a quote that impacted you and why that was, summarize each book that you have read, give us your future reading list.

But more importantly, always be sure to tell us how it influenced you!

Resume

Attach your resume to your portfolio! Many people will want more specific and concrete information about your leadership and work involvement. By including your resume you give them an opportunity to learn more about you in a professional setting.
