Purpose:
A reflection is a written summary of the significance behind any meaningful experience. Throughout your college career, whether inside or outside the classroom, you will be exposed to numerous situations that will have a grand impact on the person that you are striving to become. Taking the opportunity and time to deeply analyze what that impact is will lead you to not only understand yourself better, but also articulate it to others.

Content:

Description: What happened?  What did you do? What did you say? What did you think? How did you feel? Who else was involved? Where were you?

Learning: What did you learn? How did you learn it? How do you know you learned it? What did you find out that you still have to learn?

Accomplishments: What did you create? What did you solve? What did you overcome? What value did you add?

Significance Why was this experience significant at the time? Why is it still significant?

Connections How was this experience the same as or different from another one? How did this experience reinforce or contrast with concepts and theories you have learned in your classes?

Outcome:

Deeply analyzing and defining your learning outcomes behind any experience will lead you to not only understand yourself better, but also express the value of each experience to others.
